In stark contrast to his opponent, Mary Brice Garrett, Jay Gresham stands out as a person of strong integrity and reliability. It is important to note that Mary Brice Garrett has a criminal conviction for falsifying a government document, specifically a watercraft title. While some may dismiss this as a Summary Court level offense, it is far from trivial. Such actions have deep implications, especially for the role of Clerk of Court, a position responsible for managing our county’s legal records.

A crime of moral turpitude, as defined by law, involves conduct that is inherently dishonest, deceitful, or immoral. This categorization highlights the severity of Mrs. Garrett's actions and underscores why she is unsuitable for the position of Clerk of Court. Our county cannot afford to have someone with such an impediment overseeing our true and accurate legal records.
